Poison Ivy can only be spread for about 12 hours and/or until all the oil is absorbed and bonded with the skin. Urisol, the active ingredient in Poison Ivy, if fully bonded in a day. You can NOT spread it skin to skin after 24 hours.



However!



You CAN spread it from non-skin items after a day,, a week, or even months. If it gets on a plastic boot or shovel handle, it will be good to go for a long time, and you can get it on you again months later!
