Getting into an Ivy League schhol with a GED?
Ivy League schools do not accept very many transfer students. Harvard only accepted 75 transfer students last year -- about double the usual amount. Most of whom came from well known liberal arts colleges who transferred because they wanted to change to a major not offered at their original school.

It would be very hard for you to transfer into an Ivy League school.

If you really want an Ivy League degree your best bet is to go to a great state university, get an undergraduate degree and then apply to Ivy League schools for graduate work.
Reply:You might try writing to a couple of them and presenting you situation and question.
Reply:Its possible, but very difficult. Go to a community college for a few years and get STELLAR grades. Become involved in meaningful extra curricular activities (perferably something tied to your major). Get to know your professors so they can offer references. If you had work accolades, document them. Experience teaches! This wont guarantee you entry, but it will get your foot in the door. Also, there are tons of great schools that are not "ivy league" but have a great rep. Check out the ratings on US News and World report.
Reply:I doubt they'll deny you solely on that fact alone, but getting into an ivy league school is so difficult in the first place you probably won't get in. Ivy's look at things you can't control, such as if your parents are alumni, or if you or your parents personally know some people in the administration.

Anyway, I personally wouldn't bother with an Ivy league. You can get the exact same education at a good public school without spending $120,000. Look within your state for a good public school; I believe all public schools will accept people with GED's if it is accompanied with recommendations and a good essay.
Reply:You will need to grease some palms with huge amounts of $.
