Im not sure the name but its just a green ivy. The kind you see growing on old historic buildings etc...

How fast does ivy grow? The kind used to cover buildings?
Old adage for ivies:

First year a sleeper,

second year a creeper,

Third year a leaper.

I have found this to be true.
Reply:Two types of ivy grow on buildings that I know of. They are English vy %26amp; Swedish vy. Most of the ivy I've seen on homes %26amp; buildings, is English ivy %26amp; it grows very quickly %26amp; spreads very quickly.
Reply:it grows very fast after the first year but as well as covering the building it can cause damage by the way the roots burrow into the cement work or lift roof slates.if you want an ivy that is slower growing ,use a variegated one.but if you want cover but not the damage you a Virginian creeper.they have the added bonus of red leaves in autumn.
Reply:After cutting it all the way to the ground, it covers the house (2 story) to the roof the following year.
