Bad Poison Ivy?

I think I may have a bad case of Poison Ivy or something. I have a rash on my eyelid (not in my eye), face, mouth, hands, arm, and even....my genitals. The first five I can take, but I am worried about the 6th. My penis has no rash on it, but it has swollen up like a bee stung it. Should I run to the nearest doctor or just wait this out?

If you can stand it, you should wait it out. The doctor will most likely just prescribe a prescription strength hydrocortizone cream. In very bad cases he will give you a shot of hydrocortizone. What I do when I get bad Ivy. Is this:



1. Wash the clothes I was wearing when I came into contact with poison ivy immediately.

2. Scrub all the affected areas with tecnu, its an over the counter balm which dissolves the oil from the ivy.

3. Apply over the counter hydrocortizone cream to help with the itch.

4. Pop a couple of benedryl, it will help with the itch and the swelling.

5. Lastly if you live near the ocean salt water really seams to help, it drys out all the blisters and starts them peeling so they can heal.

PS: All this stuff is available at walgreens, the tecnu is there along with an entire wall of treatments for ivy, but I think tecnu works best.
