I'm 16 and i make pretty good grades, but i want to go to an Ivy league school. Vassar to be exact, but i dont know exactly what to do and how great (academic wise) i have to be to get in!
any advice?
The Ivy league is my dream, how do i accomplish it?
ivy league schools are very competitive. I such maintaining a high grade point average; nothing lower than a A-. I don't recommend gradually improving your GPA overtime, that is more suited towards non-ivy leagues. Also, get involve in student government or any other club that you are holding a leadership position. Ivy league are looking for leaders. Finding an alumni of the school of your choice and gaining a relationship is a strategy to take. All ideas, are some of the key elements that make you competitive for ivy league. What is most important is knowing what you want out of a ivy league and want you can contribute to the college. good luck!

Reply:Vassar isn't an Ivy League school. You are insulting real Ivy Leaguers everywhere.
Reply:Everyone applying to those schools have excellent academic records, you cant set yourself apart there, its a must to get excellent grades. You need to do original things, extracurricular activities, maybe work with a professor at a university through some kind of program (depending on what you're interested in). Think of things that not many other people will be doing, maybe take college courses. Grades are not what schools are looking at, it's assumed everyone has good grades, they want more.
