Does poison ivy leave scars?

I had an encounter with poison ivy and broke out on my arms and hands. After a week and an half, it has dried out, but I still have the red looking sores and red streaks on my arms.

I've seen a friend's scar. She had a severe case on her ankle. It is discolored to this day.

What you have sounds normal and should not leave a scar. Keep the area away from direct sunlight, because it may cause scarring. And ask your pharmacist for a cream to help it heal quicker.

I've had the same marks many times. I think it took about a month for the redness to go away.
Reply:As a kid I always got poisen ivy. i mean i even looked at it and somehow i would get it. I even had it all over my face, i have no scares. I wont look pretty after it first goes away, but dont worry, you will be fine in no time.
Reply:I've had more poison ivy than you can shake a stick at- and have no permament scars from it. But if it gets severe- and that sounds like what you've had- it will take a while to heal.
Reply:It could, depending on your skin type. In my experience, however, the redness goes away in time. I do not have any lasting scars from the (numerous) cases of poison ivy that I have had.
