It is nearly impossible to transfer into an Ivy; when I was a freshman, I considered transfer into the one in my state and balked at the number of transfer acceptances (something like 05% of applicants accepted).

That being said, it's not impossible. You would probably need to do a solid year at a good school (i.e. not a community / local college; think university). Pick a tons of extracurriculars in which to be passionate; you'll also need a Summa-level G.P.A. (03.8+). Work hard! Tip: buy a Yale / U.C.L.A. / whatever banner and hang it above your desk; whenever you're procrastinating, look at that and you'll get back on track!

Good luck! :)
Reply:You definitely have a chance of transferring to an Ivy after one year in a regular school. The competition is tough, maybe even tougher than getting into college the first time but if you have excellent grades in college to show off, it will be an indication to the admissions office that perhaps you are more suited to college work than high school work. They will request your standardized test scores and all your high school grades but if you have great grades in college to balance them out, you have a shot. Good luck!
Reply:Probably not. If you had a 4.00 and some solid extracurricular activities maybe, but with poor high school grades, it's unlikely they would take you after just a year.
