Husband has severe and unexplained rash, similar symptoms to poison ivy rash. Wondered if anyone has ever come across this plant/bush/vine in their area
Does poison ivy grow anywhere in the S E of England?
grows all over england , check it out , go carefull, can be dodgy
Reply:NOT in England, not in any book or conversation I have ever had concerning my lifelong interest in plants and native flora. Poison Ivy is restricted to the American continent. `Rashes`can be difficult to attribute causes to, but here are some possibilities. Primulas and Primrose varieties, Stinging Nettles, possibly Stags Horn Sumac (Rhus typhinus), the sap of many garden plants(when pruning or clearing) Daphne, Aconites, Hyacinth. Many plant pollens also cause allergic reaction and skin irritation. Search for the Royal Horticultural Society - potentially harmful garden plants, masses of information available.
Reply:Poison ivy does not grow in england. He must have a disease from some select places he frequents
Reply:Yes it does. It grows all over England.

Reply:Have some in the Back Garden, in the feild over the railway line behind the house, in the copse at the top of the hill behind the railway line....
