Can you get into Ivy League with one A-? Answer only from 100% personal experience, thx!?

No details, just the plain question: Can one be accepted by Ivy League with an A-? Pretend that everything else, such as volunteer hours, National Honors Society, AP/IB classes are satisifed. Thus, if everything is fufilled, can one be accepted into Ivy League with an A-?

It's possible. Although, if you only have the background above, it may be a bit more challenging. Top schools are looking for someone who can exceed academically while rounding themselves out in other areas (music, sports,etc.). They look at how you contribute to the diversity of the campus community (interests, socioeconomic background, special talents, etc.). If you are truly a well-rounded person with a stellar academic background, an A- won't kill your chances. Being a straight-A cookie cutter applicant, however, could hurt you. Sorry for breaking your "no details" rule, but there is no "plain question" here.
Reply:Yes. You can.

No details just a reminder that your other inputs like essay,SAT score, recommendations etc should be excellent.

Good Luck

Reply:for colleges, A- %26amp; A do not have a difference. when the schools recalculate your gpa, they count both A- %26amp; A as 4 points..
Reply:Of course. I went to a top 20 and know tons of people in the ivies. Plenty of them had more than one A- on their transcripts.
Reply:LOL. Not only did I get into Cornell (an ivy league school) with "A-" but I got in with 10 freakin' Bs! I must have taken like 70 courses in high school, the rest were all As and I somehow ended up as co-valedictorian. You're fine.
