ok i just got into a few colleges, i want to transfer to any of the 8 ivy league schools after freshmen year. how would i go about this? any advice would be appreciated.
Transfer to ivy league?
Apart from having a high GPA (obviously), you need to be careful in your course selection next year: take one math course, one English composition course, and no courses that won't get taken seriously (i.e. film studies, studio art, etc.).
Also, there's a question on all transfer student applications that asks your reasons for transferring -- make sure you come up with better reasons than having a more prestigious name on your diploma.
Reply:Well, Yale doesn't take transfer students, so you can knock that one off the list. Also, I think transferring after about one semester (because that's when you'll be applying) really doesn't look good. You only have a few grades to go on, not much different than you are right now, plus it looks like you're not even willing to give that college a try. What makes them think you won't try the same thing after a semester at their school?
