i think what i thought were flea bites is actually poison ivy. but here is the thing i have not been around the plant but i have been cleaning a house that i have no idea whats been in there. i have little bumps that are almost clear but red around them. and if they were flea bights i think they would of gone away by now i have had this itchy ness since friday and i have it on my arms my one hip and 2 tiny spots on my legs. how can i keep it from spreading, and can my daughter get it from me? i am nursing... so should i just wear a long sleeve shirt well holding her?
Poison ivy?
If it's really poison ivy, it won't spread and you wont transmit it to your daughter. The rash is an allergic reaction to oil and only happens where the oil touched your skin.
You should get checked, because your description doesn't sound like poison ivy.
Reply:If it is poison ivy it can spread very easily! The oil leaks out of your skin and can get on your baby's skin also! It is the oil that people are allergic to. My husband is a landscaper and gets poison ivy frequently. I make sure to clean the sheets each night and I won't sleep next to him because the oil could spread to my body also. Some people are not allergic the the plant and nothing will happen to them at all, but that is rare! Make sure your take benadryl and use plenty of calamine lotion to dry it out! If it doesn't clear up in a few days go to a doctor because it could be something else! Any where scratch the rash you are able to spread it to other parts of your body. And if you are cleaning other people's houses make sure it is not a ring shaped rash because then you are dealing with ring worm!
Reply:i have the exact same spots - well more like raised blisters on my hand just a small patch i went to see my local chemist today and they said it looks like a fungal infection and i have bought a fungal cream. Am not sure if there right but i have a doctors appt this week also , hope yours goes awy soon ! x
