Poison ivy?

how long does it take for poison ivy to go away?

Poison ivy?
I would first treat it with calamine lotion and oatmeal bath. Then it should go in about a week.
Reply:It depends on how much body surface area has been infected and how much you're scratching it. If it's just one small area and you've basically been slathering yourself in hydrocortisone cream or something similar, then it could take less than a week. If it's a large area and you've been scratching and not using anything for it, then it could become so severe that you will need to get a prescription for steroid pills from your doctor. It also depends on your sensitivity to it, as well. It affects everyone differently.
Reply:Poison Ivy will dry up almost instantly if you have access to the ocean. I "scrub" the poison ivy with sand while in the salt water. I have also used sea salt at home. Soak the area in SEA Salt and warm water, it doesn't hurt to scrub the location to get the poison out. The salt dries it right up.
Reply:Calomine lotion helps. It should clear up in 3 days to a week.
Reply:10 days or so. If it gets too uncomfortable, go see your doctor. Mine gave me a steroid pack which helped within 24 hours but you HAVE to take the entire dosage!
Reply:A week or so. Put calamine on it and don't itch because that will spread the oil around and make the rash worse.
Reply:a week
