Poision ivy or allergic reaction?

i had went to the drs for a rash and for my eyes being swollen but she said it could be an allercgic reaction to something the dog got in to when she was outside or it could be poision ivy but any way she gave my itching med and it doesnt help i still ich realy bad any ideals on what i can do? and i cant take bendrly im allergic to it i need help really bad it itches

steroids. I had a severe reaction to poison ivy. the itching creams did not work, I was in agony. so she put me on some sort of steroid thing to make it go away. she had to give me it 2 times. tell you doctor how bad it is. you might need something strong to help.



PS. the first time I ever got poison ivy was 8 months pregnant. the second time is the time I just told you about and was much more severe. it was all over my body but the worst on my arms and legs. I'v been there so know what it's like.....I feel for you. hope you get better soon.
Reply:If you know it is poison ivy try a product called Tecnu my husband uses this when he get poison ivy and it helps to draw out all the bad stuff and get rid of it quicker. A doctor can also give you a prescript for a steroid to help with the itching, my husband has tried that to and it works for the itching. But I have never seen anyone with swollen eyes who had poison ivy but it could be possible if you rubbed your eyes after being infected or scratching the infected area.
