My brother has very bad poisen ivy, and he cant sleep at night, b/c it itches too bad, and calmine and benydryl lostions dont work. He cant afford to go to a doctor or get anything expensive. What is the easiest way to get RID of it, and stop the itch!!! That wont cost him. like, something natural.
Poisen ivy!?
There's no way to get rid of it -- it's a severe allergic reaction to an oil (urushiol) in the poison ivy plant. Some people are more sensitive to it than others. Unfortunately the only thing to do is wait it out, and the rash will eventually go away. I've had it many times and I've never found any lotion, cream or natural remedy that helped at all; in fact they sometimes made the itching worse. (A cool water compress may give *slight* relief, but not much.)
