How to remove poison ivy?

So I got poison ivy on my right forearm, and I have no clue where it came from! I have not been in the woods or anywhere where I have come in contact with shrubs or anything. Then I found out my friend has it, and he has been in the woods!

Anyways, it is not very big, but I still do not like it. It is red and has blisters, and small blisters are appering on other areas of my arm. I've been using this Hydrocortisone Cream, and drenching it in soap when I take a shower. Is there anything else I can do to prevent this beast! I've had poison ivy twice, and it spread all over my body like a wildfire, I hope it does not happen a 3rd time.

How to remove poison ivy?
There is a gel that use to be called Rhuli gel made by Johnson and Johnson they have changed to name but it is still made by Johnson and Johnson and it should still be on the same aisle as the other anti-itch meds. It is in a clear tube and not in a box. Go to the local pharmacy and and ask them about it. The tree cutters in my area swear by it and they are always getting into poison ivy or oak. Also you can take a oatmeal bath and that would help with the itching. Good luck.
Reply:The Best way to get rid of poison ivy is to go to the beach! Spend a day in salt water and your poison Ivy will be gone in no time. The salt drys the rash of poison ivy oils....Trust me on this I am highly allergic to poison ivy and a day at the ocean and I'm golden Report It
Reply:I get poison ivy and poison oak all the time and this is what I use. CalaGel . It is a clear bottle and you can get it in any drug store or walmart. If you touch the area you have it and then touch another part of your skin it will spread. It's going to take a few days to go away after you start using this stuff, but it really does the trick.
Reply:Drenching it in soap will help to spread the poison ivy. It's very easy to spread the poison ivy when showering. I believe that hot showers open your pores making it easier for the poison ivy oils to sink in and get absorbed to the skin. Ask you pharmacist which medication is best for treating a broken out area. Use orange hand cream to remove the poison ivy from the surrounding areas. It's a hand cleaner you can get in the automotive section of a store. Keep the affected areas covered so it doesn't touch other skin on your body.
Reply:i think that you should put itch relieve cream( the one that contains raking away poison ivy) if you dont want to be seen, then wear long sleeves. no one can just poof it away. just give it some time and it'll get better. dont worry.

i hope this helps.
Reply:I suggest you cover the spot on your arm. The fluid from the blisters is how it spreads and you probably brushed against something your friend had contact with. Calamine is really good or oatmeal baths. it if spread so rapidly before, you could be one of the unlucky ones that are allergic to posion ivy/oak. See your doctor for some cream.
Reply:you can try applying aloe vera gel to to your skin. this should definitely relieve itching and inflammation. Check out http://www.realhomeremedies.com and click on the poison ivy link on the left for remedies and tips.
