Devils Ivy?

I have a friend who has two hanging baskets of Devil's Ivy. I have never had this plant myself, and he seems to worry about if he is overwatering it. I don't think so. He only puts a SHOT glass of water in it every other day and people are telling him he is watering it too much, that he should only water it once a month. I have alot of plants, and it seems to me that it would die if he went that long, and I would think he should soak it through about once a week. Any suggestions?

Devils Ivy?
the true name for this plant is pathos. It can take quite a bit of water and will propogate in a jar of water. I would put it in a sink full of water weekly and let it soak up a good drink.
Reply:Latin names for this plant include Epipremnum aureum, Scindapsus aureus, Pothos aureus, and Raphidophora aurea. I'm unsure which one is the correct one used currently, but my guess is Epipremnum.

It should be watered when the top two inches of soil is dry, so it can withstand a moderate amount of drying out. Everytime you water it, it should be watered thoroughly, meaning the soil is uniformly moist. This will encourage deep rooting.
