Ivy League Question?

In order to get into an Ivy League school, do you have to be enrolled in the gt (gifted and talented) program while in high school?

Ivy League Question?
No, but you need to make all A's in the most advanced classes. Actually, as a former teacher, I have never heard of the GT program going beyond eighth grade. What usually happens is that those students who are enrolled in GT up to eighth grade end up placed in advanced classes in high school, but anyone can take these classes. If you haven't gotten to high school yet, just make sure you take as many AP (advanced placement) classes as possible, and do your best in them.

Legally today you cannot be told that you can't take an AP class. They are supposed to be open to anyone. If you are told that you cannot take the class, get your parents to the school and challenge it.
Reply:I found this website try to see if this will help you.

It tells you what the criteria are and how each school interprets each score such as SAT and so on.

Also, know that just because it is "ivy league" it may not be what you really want. Each school has it's specialty find the one that specializes in what you want and you may find it is not Ivy league. As a recent graduate from college I found that it is all about what you really want to do. Once you decide on an area of study your search will be easy.

Good luck in all that you do, and I hope you find what you are looking for.
Reply:Definitely no. Your grades and SAT scores should be high. You should have strong recommendations from your teachers. And you should have well-rounded extra-curricular experiences (volunteer, the arts, etc.).
Reply:No, that's ridiculous.
