Poison Ivy?

I think i may have walked in some poison ivy or poison oak. I got it on Sunday and I have been putting that pink stuff on it but it just keeps multiplying. ( It's hard not to itch it) Anyways if you could tell me how long it last or how to make it feel better.

Poison Ivy?
This is an allergic reaction. If it's showing up now, you probably don't have to worry about spreading it. You did all the spreading around Sunday. Now it's just going to start showing up where it's going to show up. Antihistamines sometimes work for allergies like these. You can even get generic Claritin over the counter to help a little bit. Most people take Benedryl. It's just a temporary thing, but if you wash the affected area with a laundry soap like Fels Naptha it will dry out the skin and give temporary relief.

With all this said, the thing that will create the most immediate relief from the pain is a little jar of goop called Tiger Balm. You can find it at a lot of pharmacies and super markets. It is a small jar with a tiger on it. You can see a picture of it at this link http://www.drugstore.com/qxp10428_332828...

I have had lots of poison ivy in my day and know how you feel. Good luck!
Reply:I am an expert on poison ivy!!

Wash your sheets.

Wash your clothes.

Your shoes.

Any furniture you might have sat in when you initially got it.

Because the oils last a LONG time, and they transfer EASILY. If you walk though it and you get the oils on your pants, then you tough your pants when you are doing laundry, you will get poison ivy on your hands. It's pretty intense.

Wash everything that might have come in contact with the oils and it will stop spreading.
Reply:hey. dont feel bad....i got mine exactly a week ago and yesterday it was at its worse. once your skin comes in contact with the plant the oil from the poison ivy gets on your skin which causes an allergic reactions. wash wherever you got it (arms, legs, hands whatever) with soap and water. dry it. then try calamine lotion, thats what im using. and as far as multiplying, it wont, your skin will only break out wherever you touched the poison ivy. try your hardest not to itch it.
